Privacy Policy

The short version

The Information Station is a static informational website. It does not sell your personal information, does not run advertising trackers, and collects only what is needed to operate the site and answer messages you choose to send.

What we collect

• Messages you send. If you email us or use a contact form, we receive the information you provide (such as your name, email address and message) so we can reply.
• Basic server logs. Our host (Cloudflare) may record standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and performance. This is normal web-server operation.
• No advertising cookies. We do not set marketing or cross-site tracking cookies.

Third parties

Some links (for example to Amazon) take you to third-party sites with their own privacy policies, which we do not control. Fonts are served by Google Fonts. Amazon may use its own cookies when you follow an affiliate link and make a purchase.

How we use information

Only to respond to your enquiries, to keep the site secure and working, and to comply with law. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

Retention

We keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for reasonable record-keeping, then delete it.

Your rights (PIPEDA)

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it. Email richardharlan@theinformationstation.ca and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children.

Changes

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above will change accordingly.
